Ok, I'll fess up - finishing this by the end of January seems a little optimistic now.
Last week I realised I was trying to force myself to work on this album when I really wasn't feeling inspired. This is an album I generally enjoy - both in the creating and the looking back - so I decided to put it down for a few days. Now I feel the ideas starting to bubble again. :)
But with a unit full of boxes, both packed and the more daunting waiting to be packed, I'm having trouble settling down and completing tasks. I think it might be time to aim for finishing my December Daily by the end of February, which is ambitious enough at the moment!
I do have a few pages to share with you though.
Day 16 - Picked up one last present while at Greensborough shopping centre for a hair cut and my Christmas shopping is done. (I hope!)
Day 18 - Although I like the look, I'm not generally one to turn photos black and white. So glad I thought of it this time because it worked wonderfully toning down a competing background.
Love this shot of my and my family. Thanks to the passing stranger who took it. :)
Also Day 18 - That night I had friends over for dinner. I roasted a whole chicken!
Not the most organised (auction for yellow house the day before made it difficult to plan ahead) I decided what we were eating after brunch and jotted down a shopping list. Crumpled and messy, this is it in all it's glory. :) Don't love this page but am glad I included this bit of 'real'.
Day 25 - Although you can bet that I am not organised enough to have edited Christmas Day photos, I do have these 3 pages. (They are white cardstock, just with dodgy photography.)
On Christmas Day I asked everyone to finish the sentence 'What I love about Christmas is...' My family was kind enough to humour me and participate. :)
Visually they are very simple pages but I do love them - their words and their handwriting.
I had added the title, stitching and punched holes beforehand. I still need to rub off a few pencil directions and then they are done, apart from adding my own answer. I kind of forgot me!
I find these December Daily albums (this is my second) a real treasure. Apart from loving Christmas, I see almost all my favourite people in this month and they are all included in these pages. It's something to enjoy and celebrate, not hurry through. (There is no right way - I'm speaking about me here.)
So what if I don't finish in January. Or in February. As long as I finish...eventually.
