I used white cardstock for the base, misting in one corner. The patterned paper is from a Dear Lizzy collection by American Crafts and I used patterned vellum for one of the layers as well. Some small Studio Calico wood veneer and enamel dots were the finishing touch. They are my go-to embellishments at the moment, adding a great little pop of colour and texture.
This is the second incarnation of this layout, the original using pink patterned paper for the base. Combined with the strong colours in the photo and the different layers, it was just too much. The white lets those colours pop, although I think backing the layout with a narrow border of colour would have been a good addition.
