December 20 - An early morning wake up when my sister arrived for a lift to the airport. It was lovely catching up (first time I'd seen her since the wedding) and receiving our wedding present, a large vintage poster. Mike and I had brunch in Northcote and browsed the shops, some very relaxed Christmas present shopping for this time of year. We went out for dumplings for dinner and later watched Arthur Christmas, a favourite Christmas movie. (Actually, I can't remember if the movie was Saturday or Sunday nights. I really want to be better at keeping notes!)
December 21 - I discovered dipping things in chocolate is hard as I battled to make Brownie Bombs. (Make brownies, add rum and blitz in food processor, cover in chocolate, setting them in the fridge a few times in the process.) We had lunch at Mike's parents house - his Dad wanted his sons' help assembling a new hoist - and Jenna stayed for a pizza dinner after I picked her up from the airport.
I sprayed chipboard pieces with mist, a number and an outline for the same set, for the date. I cut into the journaling card to slip The Hive business card underneath. I used a simple photo for the 21st, adding a title in Photoshop before printing.
And the spread.
December 22 - A Christmas card production line at work - assembling, writing, addressing and posting - before meeting Mike in the city for some serious Christmas present shopping. There were three trips to the car as we went bang, bang, bang crossing people off the list. We lost our mojo after dinner with only a few presents left to buy.
I wanted to include an actual card I'd made, eventually deciding to cut it down to fit a 4x6 pocket and added the embellishment on top across two pockets. The bottom pocket is a collection of ephemera from our shopping night, cut down to size. (I love stationery, yet our shopping list was written on a post-it!)
Well, I missed my optimistic 'by the end of January' finishing date, but the end of February looks possible. I thought I had finished Days 23 and 24, but I feel like it lacks some pizzazz. The photos are printed for Christmas Day; next up in creating a journaling card or two and sorting through the tags, ribbons amd wrapping paper that I kept to possibly include.
I'm almost there, which is good as my enthusiasm (and ideas) are dwindling.
