After an AirBnB kerfuffle that had us waiting at the varparetto stop for over an hour, we've found a sweet little hotel just a few doors down. An old Venetian house, recently renovated, exposed wood trusses for our bedroom ceiling, and that view.
Back on dry land, that I would swear sways just a little, and based in Split for a couple days, we headed to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Famous for its countless waterfalls, including the biggest in Croatia, and incredible turquoise lakes, we hiked, bussed and boated to explore.
Our cabin may be so tiny I wriggle into bed and the toilet requires pumping with every use, but this is home for the week. Cruising the Croatian coast, exploring beautiful islands, jumping off the back for swim, even just sailing along with wind in my hair makes it easy to forget inconvenience.
That big boat you see in the background - we did some googling - is one of the world's biggest super yachts, owned by the Emir (ruler) of Qatar and is estimated to be worth $300 million. Yeah, alrighty then!
