One thing I knew I wanted to do this year was document some sort of Day in the Life project every month or so. I imagine the rhythm of our days will change so much over the course of Amelia's first 12 months - I certainly hope her sleeping patterns do! - and I want to be able to look back and remember what life was like with a newborn. A Story Starter from Simple Scrapper's April collection, Spring Cleaning, added some focus to my journaling and additional motivation to get the first installment completed.
Rarely seeming to have both hands free nowadays - little miss is in my arms as I type this - I decided to use only my phone for both photos and note-taking. Al;though you might get a few strange looks narrating your day if you spend much of it in public, the voice recorder function worked wonderfully for me. I recorded snippets throughout the day and later transcribed them. Combined with the photos, and the time photos were taken which is automatically recorded by my phone, I ended up with a very detailed account of the day.
I waited til I'd typed out my journaling before deciding on a page format. The text fit two 6x12 pages wonderfully so I worked with an insert between 9x12 inch pocket pages. When the photos I wanted to include matched with the number of pockets almost perfectly, I added my title to the insert and kept the pocket pages embellishment free, apart from the times which were added to the photos prior to printing.
