I discovered something on the weekend - I ADORE driving a boat!
After passing my license test on Friday afternoon - 27 out of 30 with a point to spare - we left for a weekend camping at Lake Eildon with friends. (We camped there for a weekend back in January too.) Mike, Gareth, Ben and I arrived Friday evening while Lucy and Chris came up for a day trip on Saturday and Tamara and Ranga arrived just in time for dinner.
Perfect timing for some instruction on how to actually drive a boat (the license test is just written) then letting me loose on the water. And I love it. Love it. Love it!
My friend Mike claims that everyone has an inner rev-head. Well, I've found mine. Powering through the waves, wind in my hair, sound of the V8 engine - wonderful. :)
I didn't take that many photos this weekend. Well, not many for me. :) Still getting over being sick, I did cough lots though.
Ben's mango chicken curry.
Sunday evening we stayed at the waters edge, bringing our dinner down to eat. As we carried the platters another group called out to us, saying we were going in the wrong direction, that should be bringing the food to them. We have enviable food! :)
Then after breakfast Monday it was time to pack it all up again and head home. We're definitely getting faster on that part - under an hour and a half to pack up this time I think.
I'm so glad I made the most of the long weekend and didn't just flitter it away. I even went to a movie, This Means War, on Monday evening.
A good weekend - nice and relaxing.
