Our last day in Paris began a bit dreary and grey, perfect for a trip to the Musee d'Orsay. I love the art nouveau furniture collection there, plus it's a who's who of Impressionists. :)
After a simple lunch of cheese and bread - I don't think there is anywhere else in the world where that can taste as wonderful - we bought treats from a patisserie which we took to Jardin du Luxembourg to enjoy.
We wandered in the Latin Quarter, past the Sorbonne and this wonderful bookshop. Small, quirky and shelves crowded with books - loved it.
Our last area to explore was Canal St-Martin, where Boyf was fascinated by the lock system.
In honour of our last night in Paris, we headed back to our favourite restaurant we'd found earlier in the week.
French onion soup, slow-cooked veal casserole and chocolate cake. Bon appetit! We were stuffed full by the end but it was so worth it.
Then the next morning it was time to leave Paris. A few hours in central London, enough time for a nice lunch at one last pub, and we were off to Heathrow for an overnight flight to Dar es Salaam.
That's where I am now, having spent a lazy day relaxing at the hotel. Tomorrow morning, 6:30am, we leave on safari. Wish me luck! :)
