Day 25: Christmas Day! I created a collage of photos and ephemera from the day, as well as hole punching two cards that my Mum had used as present tags. The wood veneer 25, from the Studio Calico DD kit, fit perfectly on top.
Left: I used an Ali Edwards template to create the photo collage, then cut out some squares and backed them with various paper bits from the day. I have some of my present labels to BoyF, jokes from the crackers, a present tag from my Dad and wrapping paper scraps.
Right: A photo of my plate at lunch - I'm proud of the rolled turkey breast and the lamb was delicious - and a group selfie. ;) The journaling is printed on vellum which I added over the photo.
Day 26: Celebrating Christmas with all of BoyF's family.
Right: I cut down a page protector to make a narrow 3x8 page with 2 pockets each side.
There were a lot of less than stellar photos from this day, but I wanted to include those that told the story regardless. Simple photo collages were a great way to do this.
I used a journaling card for the printed journaling, writing snippets of the day.
Day 27: Boxing Day Sales with my Mum. Some silly selfies, the sale text cut on my Silhouette, a receipt slipped in with a journaling card and a sticker from the day.
Day 28: A hot summer day. I added text to the beach photo before printing. The journaling is on a label I made using Avery sticker paper and the Silhouette print and cut feature (only recent worked that out!).
Day 29 and 30: I worked through this album pretty much consecutively (complete day 1 then 2 then 3...) so by the time I got to these pages I was very ready to be done. But I'm surprisingly pleased with how these days turned out.
Day 29: The top photo was edited with RadLad actions and I think the tones printed out nicely. (I have a love hate relationship with printing photos.) The ombre pink/red paper helps tie it all together.
Day 30: A nothing much happened day so I included a photo of my presents. I think it will be great to look back on in the future.
Day 31: New Years Eve. Mike had to stay home sick, but I travelled with friends to the New Years Eve party of other friends. Apart from sharing only a midnight phone call with BoyF, it was a wonderful evening. I hole punched the novelty glasses that came out at midnight and included them too.
Left: Glitter paper seemed very fitting for NYE. I kept the embellishment simple, adding just a sticker.
Right: To finish off the album, I decided to use this silly photo. The quality isn't great, taken in the dark on my phone, so printing on vellum seemed perfect. It made the best of the photo and meant there wasn't a sad back of the page that needed something. I cut a strip of transparency to add behind to protect the vellum from the workings of the ring binder.
And with that, my December Daily album is complete. Finally. :)
