Canazei

Our stop for the night, somewhere in the Dolomites. The scenery is stunning and our B'n'B is painted very pink. :)

Lake Garda

Photos don't do it justice; this is an incredibly beautiful corner of the world. Gorgeous blue lake as far as you can see, dramatic mountains, picturesque villas and churches, olive trees everywhere, all surrounded by delicious food. Sad to be moving on tomorrow.

Riva Aquarama

Today was the day I think Mike was most looking forward to this holiday - a day out on Lake Garda in a Riva Aquarama. A beautiful mahogany speedboat dating back to the 1960s, it is an incredible ride. We swam, pulled up for a drink, wake boarded, drove, Mike even got to check out the engines. An awesome day.

Everest

Mike and I have just watched Everest, the opening night film at this year's Venice International Film Festival. We witnessed a little of the crazy that accompanies a celebrity red carpet - BYO ladder by the way - before joining 1700 others to watch the 3D movie. Although no Birdman, which had this prestigious opening slot at last year's festival, the cinematography was stunning. And I can safely say, I have no desire to EVER climb Mount Everest.

All the Colours in Burano

After spending our first Venetian day locating and exploring St Marks Square, on our second we took vaporetto (water bus) to Murano and Burano.

Goodbye Croatia, Hello Italy

After an AirBnB kerfuffle that had us waiting at the varparetto stop for over an hour, we've found a sweet little hotel just a few doors down. An old Venetian house, recently renovated, exposed wood trusses for our bedroom ceiling, and that view.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Back on dry land, that I would swear sways just a little, and based in Split for a couple days, we headed to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Famous for its countless waterfalls, including the biggest in Croatia, and incredible turquoise lakes, we hiked, bussed and boated to explore.
